The polyester products are characterised by a high-filling quality. They can be used both as an easily sanded base and as a finish which, by means of subsequent surface treatment, offer extraordinary gloss and wet look.
The polyester products can be divided as follows:

Paraffin polyesters, which dry when exposed to air or through UV curing.

These products have an unsaturated resin base, to which special paraffin is added. This prevents the paint film from entering into contact with the air and, forming a superficial insulating barrier, permits perfect drying and gives maximum chemical and mechanical resistance.
In the case of normal paraffin polyesters that form a film at room temperature, the reaction takes place thanks to peroxide catalysts, whose action is triggered by accelerators.
In the case of UV paraffin polyesters, the reaction is due to the use of photosensitive catalysts (photo-activators), whose action is triggered by the UV lamps used for curing.
Thanks to their high solid content, polyester products are particularly suitable as preparation products to obtain closed pore finishes, both transparent and pigmented, for the outside and inside of modern and classical furniture, wardrobes, desks, tables and kitchens.
Furthermore, if suitably sanded and polished, it is possible to obtain high gloss pigmented or transparent wet look finishes.

Non-paraffin polyester bases (polyesterines)
The non-paraffin polyester bases, or polyesterines, are used to obtain high-filling quality bases.
The absence of paraffin makes them very easy to sand.
They are particularly suited to paint shaped articles such as picture-frames or profiles, or for those articles which cannot be sanded mechanically.
These products make it possible to obtain closed pore finishes where maximum filling is achieved with a minimum amount of coats.
