ILVA Polimeri was born in Milan in1946. Since its foundation, it has specialized in the production of coatings for wood and furniture industry. It has acquired an always greater number of market shares, until becoming in the Fifties’ the biggest Italian Company in its field. It was about the Sixties’ when the manufacturing of polyurethane elastomers for synthetic leather was added to its production.

In the same years, during the period of steady growth of the Italian furniture industry, it moved its production in Senago, in Brianza, a symbol of the Italian furniture manufacturing tradition.

ILVA Polimeri continues expanding in the Italian and foreign markets and today it is well-known and appreciated not only in the European Countries, but also in the Middle East and in the United States.

Following the evolution of the market from artisanal to industrial, ILVA Polimeri is transforming into one of the most important wood coating production companies in Europe, thanks to its technology and to the high investments in the Research allowing the development of an excellent product range.

In 1986 ILVA Polimeri joined IVM Group the most important in Europe and one of the first Companies in the world in its field, with subsidiaries in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Greece, Poland and present in 70 Countries through specialized dealers. Since 2007 it is a commercial Division of IVM Chemicals, the Italian Company of the Group.

ILVA Polimeri was the first Company in Italy to develop the technology of polyurethane destined to the market of imitation leather, obtaining a supremacy which is continually confirmed by the excellent technical characteristics and the wide range of products offered.

Recently, further developing the polyurethane elastomer technology, a range of adhesive products for flexible packaging has been added.
